VT Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition Hiring for Part-Time Position

The VBPC is seeking to hire a part-time Membership & Office Coordinator to replace Valerie Bluhm who is leaving after two years of stellar work in this role. The position (10 hours per week) is located in our Montpelier office and pays $11 per hour. Strong computer skills are especially desirable in this Mac office environment. The Coalition would prefer to hire someone as soon as possible to allow Valerie time to train her replacement. Typical responsibilities are listed below but may be altered to accommodate the talents and interests of the individual hired. Responsibilities of VBPC Membership & Office Coordinator:

· Maintain membership database

· Prep deposits and communicate with bookkeeper

· Maintain mailing list

· Respond to general inquiries

· Pull data and prep labels in advance of newsletter and special mailings

· Provide administrative support for executive director

· Keep/update records, forms, templates, and manage office supplies

· Assist director with office/storage space organizing and cleaning as requested

NEW ENGLAND FORESTRY FOUNDATION
Opening for Forest Director


New England Forestry Foundation seeks a Forest Director to serve as the Foundation’s chief forest policy director and spokesperson and to oversee the organization’s community forests and forestry.

This position brings together the three equally important components of NEFF’s land activities – land protection, forest stewardship and conservation easement management. This is designed to capitalize on opportunities where these components intersect, achieve efficiencies, and provide opportunities for cross-training. The Forest Director will work in close coordination with NEFF’s outreach and educational programs with a focus on NEFF’s demonstration community forests.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Forest Policy and Information, Land Protection, Forest Management, Conservation Easement Stewardship, Fund-raising and Outreach, Personnel and Management
He/she will prepare and be responsible for annual budgets; and maintain high quality accurate data about each community forest, including management plans, harvest records, deeds, GIS, inventories, recreation use, and historic information.

QUALIFICATIONS
We seek a seasoned professional with forest education and industry background as well as knowledge about land conservation. Candidates must be an SAF Certified Forester (CF) and Licensed Forester in at least one of the states where NEFF has property and that offer state licenseing (NH, MA, ME, CT).

The Forest Director must be results oriented and have a proven ability to initiate and implement organizational improvements. With respect to NEFF’s land holdings, individuals should be able to think beyond the traditional and individual “New England woodlot” level, and harness and optimize the cumulative effect of over 100 parcels in five New England states.

Request For Proposals for Facilitation of the Green Mountain Trails Collaborative Stewardship and Communication Committee
DEADLINE MARCH 15, 2010


The Vermont Trails and Greenways Council (VT&GC) wishes to retain the services of an individual or company to facilitate the Green Mountain Trails Collaborative (GMTC) Stewardship and Education Committee. The Vermont Trails & Greenways Council seeks to ensure that people will always have access to adequate land and water-based trails and greenways. The focus of the Council’s mission is providing education and advocacy for all types of trail users in Vermont. The Council, therefore, has undertaken the important task of directing a facilitator to provide a comprehensive report on statewide trail stewardship and communication thru the Green Mountain Trails Collaborative.

Compensation will be $1875 per month for 8 months for a total amount not to exceed $15,000.  Invoices will be submitted to the Council on the 25th of every month.   The selected party will be a sub contractor of VT&GC and will be not eligible for any benefit associated with employment by VT&GC.
