Fairlee, VT. Tour de Taste: A Pedaling Picnic
Immerse yourself in a quintessential New England bicycling experience on this
scenic progressive pedaling picnic through the Connecticut River Valley. Enjoy
the autumn foliage at your own pace, meet local producers and community members,
and sample delicious, local, harvest bounty at designated meal stops and farms
along the route. Last year’s participants enjoyed potato leek chowder,
just-picked corn on the cob, pizza, scrumptious barbecue, middle-eastern salads
with fresh tomatoes, ice cream, and more! The 16-mile loop route heads south
from Fairlee, VT, crosses the Connecticut River toward Lyme, NH, travels north
along the river to Orford, and returns to Vermont. New for 2008 are two options:
a longer additional loop to Post Mills/ Lake Fairlee adds about 11 very pretty
miles to the route, and a shorter 6-mile loop around beautiful Lake Morey is
perfect for families with young children or for those who prefer a shorter
distance. If you like, combine all three routes! Route maps, directions, and
support vehicles are provided for your convenience and safety. Mark your

for thousands of years by Inuit Eskimos to hunt seals. Their ability to make
seaworthy kayaks was an important skill for their survival, and an essential
part of native Arctic cultures and way of life. There are two workshop classes.

Vermont to Host Golf 9thth
Annual Tourney to Benefit
Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports
For the 9th consecutive year,
the Vermont Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (VT-APTA) is
hosting a golf tournament to benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, a non
profit organization which offers adaptive sports and recreation for individuals
with a disability. This year’s golf tournament, sponsored by Fair Point
Communications, will be held at Sugarbush Golf Club, in
Warren,
VT on Friday September 12th. The
Tourney begins with a noon shot gun start. Over the last eight years an excess
of $45,000 has been raised for Vermont Adaptive and the VT-APTA. The proceeds
directly benefit individuals who rely on the Vermont Adaptive and its services
to participate in healthy outdoor sports such as sailing, skiing, hiking,
cycling, paddling, and horseback riding. The volunteer members of the VT-APTA
help to promote the profession of physical therapy to the public, lawmakers and
the insurance industry as an integral component of health care. The VT-APTA
works to ensure that the public and the physical therapy profession are
protected by promoting fair regulations and legislation, encouraging research
and educating others. This year’s tournament is sure to be another tremendous
success! There will be plenty of contests,
raffles, food, and prizes. As you know, we can’t do it without your
generous support. The more help we get, the bigger the day will be! Please
