A 5,000-mile magical highway appears in Vermont each winter for snowmobilers. It crosses public and private land and makes some of this world’s most spectacular vistas of nature accessible to snow travelers.

Maps mark trail heads, snowmobile bridges, fuel, food and lodging stops. With a little planning, a full statewide tour awaits. Nature and the pleasure of your family and friends riding in tandem provide the fun, while towns and villages along the way supply additional amenities.

Vermont Association of Snow Travelers

The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers, Inc. was founded over 30 years ago and is responsible for the organization of the sport and maintaining and grooming trails. One of the oldest snowmobiling organizations in the U.S., VAST is a non-profit, private group that includes over 140 clubs statewide, with over 45,000 members combined. The clubs and their steadfast volunteers are the backbone of the organization.

Any person who intends to ride on the VAST trail system must join a club. There are over 140 clubs to choose from and they are located throughout the state. Once you join a club, you may use any of the trails located throughout the state. Find a club.
