Friends and Members of VOGA,
In spite of the obstacles thrown at us by the
economy and mother nature, our recreation and
travel industry continues to draw visitors.
It's not because of luck as some may tell you.
Rather, it is due to the hard work and
generosity of the good folks of this state.
As we enter another season, its hard to
believe the beating that we as a state have
taken but look around. Businesses are coming
back stronger than ever. Congratulate
yourselves because you deserve it. That's
enough, now let's get back to work.
We'll be making more changes to our web over
the winter. Right now, we are averaging 700
visitors per day and these numbers will be
growing through February/March.
I am looking for suggestions that will improve
our web site. Please send in your suggestions
and thoughts. They will be greatly
appreciated.
Please consider sharing this message with your
friends, students and staff.

Recreation Industry News
- Can
you help us join Vermont with other
state parks systems across the country to host
a series of "First Day Hikes" in our state
parks? We would like to have volunteers lead
short, easy public hikes (or snowshoes or
cross country skis) at as many state parks as
possible on January 1. A few hikes would be OK
but the more, the merrier. It's really that
simple. Contact Craig Whipple, Director of
State Parks at: 802-241-3663 or email:

stories in the 300 page book and each is
illustrated.

Thanks to collaborative efforts between an
enthusiastic group of Greensboro residents and
the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, the
x-c ski and snowshoe trails of the Highland
Lodge will remain open to skiers and
snowshoers despite the closing of the Lodge. (COC

135k of interconnected trails this winter!)

- This Holiday season, please
support your local recreation trail

have done a great deal of damage to trails
across the State. Visit our trail directory
