Join us for our Annual Winter Doe Camp Retreat for women in Fairlee, VT. Doe Camp focuses on encouraging  participation of women of all abilities in outdoor activities.

Doe Camp registration is on a first come first served basis. You do not need previous outdoor experience to attend. Each class is designed to offer hands-on experience for beginners and pros alike in a supportive environment. Participants must be at least 15 years of age and participants less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Meals & Lodging:    Delicious, hearty and well balanced meals are served buffet style in Hulbert’s sunny dining hall. Accommodations are in Hulbert’s comfortable, winterized cabins.  Each has either four bedrooms with four beds.  The cabins are equipped with easily converted twin-size loft beds to accommodate either double or quad occupancy. Each cabin contains two bathrooms each with two showers and two toilets.  Participants are responsible for bringing their own blankets, pillows, linens, and towels or you can rent them for $10. Program fee is based on Quad occupancy or you can choose to upgrade to Double occupancy for an extra fee (limited).
Activities: There will be lots of opportunity to hone your skills, learn something new, and relax by the fireplace. Taught by outdoor education volunteers, classes ranging from wilderness survival, such as fire making and ax skills, will be held alongside recreation classes like snowshoeing, winter camping, ice fishing and dog sledding.
Equipment:  Most classes will be outside on the snow or ice so please dress comfortably and sensibly. We recommend that you bring warm waterproof boots and clothes, since classes will be held regardless of weather.  Please read the class descriptions carefully for details on what clothing/gear and levels of physical activity and experience are expected. More detailed information will come with your confirmation packet.  Most equipment is provided (exceptions are noted in course descriptions).  However, please feel free to bring your own equipment.
Firearms and Fishing Licenses:  All attendees must comply with applicable State and Federal laws concerning the use, transport, and storage of firearms. In addition, your firearms MUST be stored, unloaded, and kept in a locked case or with trigger lock.  If you intend to fish, please bring your current fishing license. Purchase your license online:

Please read the class descriptions carefully for details on what clothing/gear and levels of physical activity and experience are expected.
