Audubon Vermont Seeks Full-Time Educator
The Green Mountain Audubon Center’s conservation education programs provide people of all ages with direct experiences in nature. Audubon’s programs are outdoors, science-based, interactive, and encourage participants to take age-appropriate conservation action to help protect birds, other wildlife and their habitats. The Educator is a critical member of Audubon Vermont’s (AV) Center team, with a strong focus on developing and delivering education programs for all ages. The Educator will lead programs for affinity groups, under served populations, children preschool through high school, adults and the general public. This position will also help to mentor college students through our robust internship program. Reports to the Education Program Manager at the Audubon Center and works a 35 hours per week schedule with occasional weekend and evening work. Pay range: $17-20. Expedition Trip Leader Job Post at Lake Champlain Maritime Museum
Lake Champlain Maritime Museum in Vergennes, Vermont is in search of qualified on-water trip leaders for their summer teen expedition programs. The summer is broken into three separate expeditions. The first called Champlain Discovery is a five-week program where teens ages 13-16 build 17’ sea kayaks and embark on a two-week expedition on Lake Champlain in the kayaks they built. The boatbuilding portion of Champlain Discovery is a day program that runs five days a week followed by the expedition. Trip leaders are responsible for student management during the building portion and will work with experienced boatbuilders. Not all participants of the boat building program choose to attend the expedition. Followed by Champlain Discovery are two one-week long expeditions. Expedition Champlain is a rowing expedition and Sail Champlain is a sailing expedition. Training in the rowing boats will be provided prior to embarking on the rowing expedition. Trip leaders for the sailing expedition will be selected based on sailing experience. Conservation Field Specialist AmeriCorps Member. Audubon Vermont's conservation team has an opening for an AmeriCorps member to serve the community by advancing Audubon's Conservation Programs in assisting with habitat assessments, habitat restoration, and bird monitoring at priority habitats across Vermont. This position is a great fit for someone who loves working outdoors and wants to grow their skills as a field biologist.
