Ascutney Trails Ascutney Outdoors and Trails offers a remarkable four-season venue for lovers of nature and the outdoors. Community members and visitors enjoy public access to our trails, forests and fields for mountain biking, hiking, horseback, trail running, backcountry and alpine skiing, snowshoeing and snow-tubing. The Ascutney Outdoors Center is the gathering place for all of our activities and a stunning venue for community and outside events.
Beebe Spur Rail Trail
Beebe Spur Rail Trail (BSRT) connects with the Newport Bike Path and Memphremagog Trails to provide cyclists with a short four-mile ride starting in Newport. This easy and flat gravel trail begins in a residential area and then reveals spectacular views along the lake's eastern shore. The BSRT terminates in North Derby where signs guide riders along a quick 1.5-mile detour to enter Canada.
Bristol, VT Trail Network - are trails developed and maintained for hiking, biking and cross country skiing.
Cross Vermont Trail is a project to build a multi-use, four season path across the width of Vermont; following the Winooski River and Wells River valleys.
Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail is a 19.8-mile (31.9 km) rail trail built along an abandoned Delaware & Hudson Railway (D&H) corridor between West Rupert and Castleton, Vermont.
Grafton Trails & Outdoor Center - you’ll find activities, recreation, and events sure to entertain the entire family. Delight in skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking, a snow tubing hill, and sleigh rides in the winter, or visit in the summer for mountain biking, swimming, and hiking.
Green Mountain National Forest - Mountain bikes, are limited to trails specifically signed open to mountain bikes and Forest Service Roads open to vehicular travel.
Green Mountain Trails are a multiuse network of flowy singletrack over varied terrain in Pittsfield and Stockbridge, Vermont eight miles North of Killington. Mountain bike, trail run, hike, snow shoe on some 25 mi. of stellar trails.
Hard'Ack Recreation Area
In St. Albans has free terrain for nature trails, skiing or snowboarding, as well as a sledding hill and trails for mountain biking, snowshoeing and Nordic skiing.
Kingdom Trails, formed in 1994, the Kingdom Trails Association was created to protect, develop, and promote this incredible trail network. To date, Kingdom Trails has mapped and signed over 75 miles of multi-use trails, allowing for many self-guided hiking, mountain biking, and riding opportunities, with many more to come.
Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is a historic treasure extending across some of Northern Vermont’s most beautiful landscapes. The 93-mile Trail spans the breadth of Northern Vermont from the Connecticut River Valley to within two miles of Lake Champlain.
Manchester and the Mountains Bike Club - We are a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of road and mountain biking, and environmentally conscientious trail construction and maintenance. Our mission is to create a vibrant community of biking enthusiasts.
Memphremagog Trails is a non profit corporation with a mission to create and promote top rate cross country ski and mountain bike trails. These beautiful trails are located off the Beebe Spur rail trail between Derby and Newport, VT.
Millstone Trails Association is a non-profit organization that maintains the Millstone Trails, a network of non-motorized recreational trails in Central Vermont. Our trails traverse 1,500 acres of diverse and dramatic terrain, among historic quarries, New England villages, and regenerating forests.
Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail - Whether you walk, ski, or ride, a trip on the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail takes you into the heart of Northern Vermont’s agricultural open lands.
Moosalamoo National Recreation Area is one of Vermont's best-kept secrets for all who enjoy quality outdoor adventures. The 20,000 acre Moosalamoo Region including the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area (2.25MB pdf) is located in the heart of the 400,000 acre Green Mountain National Forest, stretching from the western slopes of the Green Mountains to Lake Dunmore, and from Scenic Route125 to Route 73.
Montpelier Area Mountain Bike Association (MAMBA) organized to advocate for responsible trail use, perform trail maintenance, and secure additional riding areas in the Montpelier, Vermont area.
Ridgeline Outdoor Collective - creating a sustainable trail and glade network that extends through public and private land and can be used for various non-motorized activities such as hiking, running, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and mountain biking. The proposed trails and glades would encourage non-motorized activities for locals and visitors alike.
Slate Valley Trails continues to build and maintain free public trails in Castleton, Poultney and Wells. With almost 40 miles of existing trails, and more than 25 new miles of trail planned for construction in 2020, we are an up-and-coming trail network in southwestern and central Vermont.
Southern Vermont Trails Association, In summer we have many hiking, biking and running trails. In winter we have many managed backcountry touring zones and trails for skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking. Please have a look at our maps, the descriptions of the zones and trails. In partnership of the Town of Dover, The Dover Town Forest Conservation Commission, Mount Snow, USFS and the private landowners of the Dover area.
Stowe Mountain Bike Club - SMBC was formed to maintain and expand mountain biking opportunities in the Lamoille and Washington County area. We are a volunteer organization and look for support from riders to help with trail work, advocacy and to be good stewards of the land.
The Fellowship of the Wheel - The Fellowship maintains a series of mountain biking trails in Chittenden County ( Burlington Area).

Waterbury Area Trails Association (WATA) is a volunteer-run organization that builds and maintains trails for a healthy, vibrant, and sustainable future. We are a Vermont Mountain Bike Association Chapter built from the ground up to support the Waterbury area trails and community.
Waterbury Trails Waterbury is home to several multi-use trail networks open to folks for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Many trails are located within Little River State Park and the Perry Hill trail network, both of which are accessible for recreation year-round. A portion of the Cross-Vermont Trail also passes through Waterbury, providing access to trails right from downtown.
West River Trail - The WRT is a 36-mile scenic (former railbed) all-season trail used by the public for hiking, cycling and skiing through the West River Valley in southern VT.

Stowe, VT - Fat biking, which is mountain biking on a bicycle with wide tires made to easily pedal across snow, is a fun way to experience a Stowe winter on wheels. Many trails are easy and free to access and offer great riding conditions with regular maintenance by local volunteers. Riders take the same trail network in the summertime, which leads directly to the village, local bike shops and favorite après haunts.
Vermont Mountain Bike Association - Many VMBA chapters maintain winter trails including mind blowing machine and snowshoe packed singletrack. VMBA has also partnered with VAST, US Forest Service, and Nordic centers to develop fat biking access.
